A visit to the National Wedding Show on February 19-21 atOlympia was an absolute must for all those planning their perfect wedding! There was over 250 exhibitors, offering thousands of inspirational ideas for the ultimate wedding.

Errol and his team were creating bridal looks for the runway shows working alongside the renowned make-up artist Ariane Poole and her girls.   We are also participating in the ‘magical makeovers’ events hosted by celebrity TV fashion expert Caryn Franklin, and the ‘How to Look Good team’

The Show will answered all your questions; from venues and photographers to florists and honeymoon destinations, and offers the UK’s largest collection of wedding dresses under one roof.

The Brits Awards 2010 wereheld on Tuesday 16 February at London’s earls Court. I am sure you will have seen it in all the media. Errol was there to create Sintta’s hair for her, the final result is pictured below:

The new special series of How To Look Good Naked, with Gok Wan, will start this coming Tuesday, 19 January 2010, at 8.00pm. It broadcasts on Channel 4 and will be for 3 consecutive weeks.

Our very own talented Jamie Stevens did all the hair for the models in the series as well as for the catwalk shows, which appears at the end of each episode.

He also created all the cuts and colours for the very special contributors.

This is definitely one to watch and not to be missed.

ERROL DOUGLAS STYLIST EMILY HART NAMED CLOTHES SHOW LIVE YOUNG HAIRDRESSER OF THE YEAR!

Prestigious award sponsored by HJ and Your Hair – winner announced

Errol Douglas stylist Emily Hart is following in a long line of award winners and nominees after scooping the prestigious title of Young Hairdresser of the Year, presented at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham this weekend, December 6. The prize includes £1000, a trophy and two cover shoots with award sponsors HJ and Your Hair.

Emily, a member of the salon art team and regular on TV and event session work for the likes of Jimmy Choo, was shortlisted for Junior of the Year in 2006; Errol himself rose through the ranks after being hugely successful as a young hairdresser in the likes of the FAME team, while Art Director Jamie Stevens, now resident hairdresser on Channel 4’s How To Look Good Naked, was also a finalist for the Young Hairdresser award 2 years ago.

Emily recreated her gorgeous image (right) on the catwalk for the grand final, and wowed the judges with her on-trend copper colour and beautiful cut. Says Errol, “I’m really proud of Emily – she started with me as an apprentice when she was 16 and she’s a hugely talented young hairdresser who’s set to go far.” 21-year-old Emily said: “It’s amazing to win, I feel really honoured! I’m now looking forward to my two front cover shoots for the award sponsors, HJ and Your Hair. I instantly knew I wanted to do a copper colour, the tone is perfect for this season. I wanted to achieve a bold, vivid and directional shade. The cut is a strong shape but still soft and touchable, and shooting profile meant I could do something completely different on the other side, which I undercut – it’s like two opportunities to present the haircut. It was eighties inspired; one side was soft and the other edgy which brings it bang up to date for 2010.”

The evening included demonstrations of new Matrix hair treatments from the Hair Botanicals Lounge, eyelash extensions and make-up consultations with TV’s favourite make-up artist Ariane Poole, and canapés from Boxwood Café.

The first thing any woman needs for her moment in the spotlight is a relaxing hair and scalp treatment (from £75 for 60 minutes) that strengthens hair and adds shine, softness and body. The Errol Douglas Hair Botanicals Lounge has something for everyone, with services specifically targeting hair in need of a de-tox session or seasonally stressed hair, as well as treatments tailored to brides, men, and busy mums and mums-to-be. Treatments, which utilise Matrix Biolage products, also include head massage and blow-dry, as well as a choice of Booster drinks – specially juiced drinks from our in-house chef to nourish you from the inside while we pamper you on the outside.

 Eyelash extensions will have budding starlets ready for their close-up in no time! A full upper lash set (£150) takes around 1hr 30 minutes to apply and will last up to 3 weeks. A ‘top up’ (from £50) is recommended every 2-3 weeks to maintain the look and takes just 30 minutes. The procedure involves individual false lashes being attached to your own natural lashes to create a fuller and longer lash effect. The results are very natural, and different lengths are available to achieve whatever look you desire, from shorter lashes for a very natural look to full-on long, glamorous ones! There’s also the option of ‘wings’ (from £50) — a technique where false lashes are attached just to the outer section on the eyelashes for a very subtle effect that will enhance the eyes. And they’re actually brilliant for low-maintenance girls, no more mascara application needed…

 And for ultimate Hollywood glamour, the salon is also the exclusive London stockist of the Ariane Poole make-up range. As well as retailing the range, Errol’s in-house make-up artists, trained by Ariane herself, are on hand to apply make-up (from £60) or give lessons (£60, or £300 for a one-to-one lesson with Ariane) — perfect if you’re dashing to an event or night out and need a make-up refresh, or a trend update for the new season. Clients who’ve just had a hair service can also help themselves to the bar to refresh their make-up before leaving the salon.
