I don't want to think about how long I've worked with colour - it's almost 30 years! I still love it. The kick I get from the transformation, being able to take years off someone and correcting a bad colour job, is stronger than ever. It still excites me and I'm still learning. I enjoy the fact that at this stage in my career I feel very calm, you've seen everything, every trend, every fad and you've had to put right hundreds of other salon's mistakes. Nothing surprises me and you can always get the right result. The consultation is vital, you have to manage people's expectations, read between the lines and work as a team. Colour doesn't work in isolation, the cut and the condition are all part of the overall look. Clients have to trust you. Some of my clients, I've worked with their colour for 25 years. It's changed when they got married, when they had their children and through each step of their life. When I work with my ladies, I can give them a dramatic change, but it's important to me that the new look, however different, is natural.

I've worked with Tracey for almost 20 years. In my opinion, she is by far the most knowledgeable colourist in the industry. She has huge experience. As well as being incredibly busy in the salon, she regularly works with TV and film work. She has a strong celebrity following. I think she is amazing.
